We are pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition taste by (EEA) Erick van Egeraat associated architects. It opens in the pavilion of the Polish Architects Association (SARP) on Thursday September 25th 2003 at 18.00 hours at ul. Foksal 2 in Warsaw. As the architects of the new Royal Dutch Embassy in Warsaw, we are proud to announce that the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mr. Jan Edward Craanen will open the exhibition. You can visit the exhibition until October 12th 2003.

taste exhibits selected works of Erick van Egeraat's practice developed in more than twenty years. It revisits the built projects, presents recent plans and reveals future developments. In a special presentation the design for the new Royal Dutch Embassy in Warsaw will be shown.
(EEA) Erick van Egeraat associated architects is a European architectural office that represents an innovative and challenging approach to high quality architecture. Located in Rotterdam, London, Budapest and Prague, EEA has a permanent staff of 100 employees working on a range of international projects of the highest possible level. Specific, appropriate and open-minded are the keywords of EEA's direction in architecture and related research. EEA's work continuously seeks for a different solution to the client's original brief by questioning and exploring to offer a new dimension to each project. Influenced by the cultural and historical context as well as by contemporary life, EEA aims to develop an architecture that responds to a known language with new emerging sensations in order to capture the life ahead. To create architecture that reflects the characteristics of our time and that is inspired by all creative art forms including fashion and design. The aim is not to state but to relate - not to consider but to seduce - not to irritate but to persuade and surprise.
Architecture is more than a matter of absolutes, more than a case of being one thing rather than another. This is also true for theatre, dance, music, art, media, fashion. All of them are all/and, not either/or. All of them are inclusive, not exclusive. All of them are about a range of possibilities rather than simple-minded certainties; not about poles, but rather about products of a total spectrum. The exhibition taste reveals the link of what is common to all of them: richness, intuition, spirituality, creative interpretation and spatial sensuality. taste is not just another way to emphasise our status quo but moreover a reminder of our obligation to enable the unnecessary.
